Section 27 of the Ontario Heritage Act requires that the City Clerk keep a register of properties, situated in the municipal boundaries, that are of cultural heritage value or interest. The Municipal Heritage Register lists all designated properties in the City of Timmins. Council may also include non-designated (or listed properties) on the register.
How to Access the Municipal Heritage Register
- Open the City of Timmins Community Map: CommunityPAL
- Under Layers, select "Heritage Register"
- Zoom in and hover over property of interest.
How to look up a Designation By-law
- The designation by-law includes a Statement of Cultural Heritage and List of Heritage Attributes (Schedule B).
- Click on link City of Timmins - Search
- Scroll down to "Select Location" and select "By-laws"
- Enter By-law number into "Basic Search" field and click on "Search"
How to add property to the Municipal Heritage Register
- Community members and organizations are invited to submit an application for addition of property to the Municipal Heritage Register by completing the application form.
- Enquiries regarding the Municipal Heritage Register and designation process can be submitted to Planning staff via Service Timmins by phone (705-264-1331) or in-person at City Hall during regular business hours.
