This project will help provide reliable drinking water and fire flows for all businesses and private residences east of Crawford St. 1,275m of new watermain will be installed, providing new services for the properties adjacent to the new main and a new fire hydrant for fire suppression.
Currently, one line supplies water to 1,180 water services and fire hydrants to the eastern limits of the City's distribution system. When this main is compromised, flow in the area is limited.
Work will be done in small sections with minor lane reductions around the work area. Traffic control signals will be in place. The City does not anticipate any disruption to water service while the new line is being installed.
