Shared Safety and Well-being Outcomes

Crime Severity Index Timmins

The Crime Severity Index (CSI) tracks changes in the severity of police-reported crime by accounting for both the amount of crime reported by police and the relative seriousness of these crimes.

We all have a role to play in crime prevention: from early interventions with at-risk youth, to being watchful and caring neighbors. As Timmins grows, our success as a community will depend on our shift of focus to growth and possibility.

It is important to note that CSI does not differentiate between incidents that are a danger to the public compared to more isolated incidents.

Attendance of Pilot Focus Group Project

Implementing community engagement sessions as a pilot project for July to September marked a pivotal step towards fostering stronger bonds. During these sessions, community members were given a platform to voice their concerns and ideas. Over 8 hours of engagement allowed for meaningful dialogue and community-driven solutions. A wrap report has been prepared are will be shared with Mayor and Council. In addition, the Shared Safety and Well-Being committee will lead the way in tackling some of the priorities.
