The Accessible Canada Act, which came into effect in 2019, aims to make Canada barrier-free by January 1, 2040 and involves identifying, removing, and preventing barriers within federal jurisdiction. Under the Accessible Transportation Planning and Reporting Regulations, the Timmins Victor M. Power Airport, as a transport service provider, is required to publish and maintain an Accessibility Plan, update the plan every three years, and consult with persons with disabilities.
