City contractors are turning water valves off today to isolate watermains along the Connecting Link construction zone that will be replaced. Homeowners and businesses in the area of Algonquin Blvd. between Theriault Blvd. and Rea St. N extending along Rea St. S may experience a loss in water pressure or discoloured water during this process.

Homeowners and businesses along Rea St. N. may also experience a disruption in water service for the day while work is completed.

It is recommended not to drink or wash laundry with the discoloured water. While it is not harmful to your health, it can stain laundry. Should this occur, turn on the COLD water tap closest to the source (usually your laundry tub tap) and let it run for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the water colour has returned to normal.

City staff would like to thank residents for their patience and cooperation during this necessary process. If there are any questions, concerns or requests for additional information, they may contact the Service Timmins at 705-264-1331.
