The City of Timmins Environmental Services Department, Waste Management Division, wishes to inform the public that waste and recycling carts that are normally scheduled for pick up on Friday will be delayed or postponed until tomorrow, Saturday October 21, 2023.

There will be a crew working this evening until 8pm. If your carts are not collected today please have them curbside no later than 7:30 AM, Saturday October 21, 2023.

Area:
All of Porcupine, East of Bristol Rd

Date & Time of Disruption:
October 23, 2023 - Temporary Water Disruption 8AM to Midnight

With the watermain maintenance you might experience reduced or fluctuating pressure and/or brown or rust-colored water during the disruption. It is recommended not to drink or wash laundry with discolored water. While it is not harmful to your health, it can stain laundry. Should this occur, it is advised to turn on the COLD water tap closest to the source (usually your laundry tub tap) and let it run for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the water color has returned to normal.

Road closure within this area might last longer than the estimated date and time of disruption once the repair is made.

City staff would like to thank residents for their patience and cooperation during this work.

Area:
On Third Ave from Balsam St S. to Spruce St S.
On Balsam St from Third Ave to Algonquin Blvd
On Cedar St from Second Ave to Fifth Ave
On Pine St S. from Second Ave to Algonquin Blvd
On Spruce St N. from Algonquin Blvd to Fifth Ave

Date & Time of Disruption:
October 11, 2023 - Temporary water disruption 7 PM to 7 AM (12 Hour Shut Down)

The water will be turned on as soon as the repairs are complete. Homeowners and businesses within the area might experience low pressure and/or brown/rust-colored water once the water is turned back on. It is recommended not to drink or wash laundry with discolored water. While it is not harmful to your health, it can stain laundry. Should this occur, it is advised to turn on the COLD water tap closest to the source (usually your laundry tub tap) and let it run for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the water color has returned to normal.

Areas:
Starting on Pine St. between Fifth Ave. to Second Ave.
Third Ave. between Spruce St. S. to Balsam St. S

Date & Time of Disruption:
September 26, 2023, from 11:00pm to 7:00am.

All homes and businesses in the affected area could be without water for a few hours as well as colored water and lower than normal water pressures.

 Homeowners in that area may experience brown or rust-colored water during the scheduled water maintenance. It is recommended not to drink or wash laundry with discolored water. While it is not harmful to your health, it can stain laundry. Should this occur, it is advised to turn on the COLD water tap closest to the source (usually your laundry tub tap) and let it run for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the water color has returned to normal.

The City of Timmins Environmental Services Department wishes to advise the public of an overnight hydrant flushing/watermain cleaning activities in the following areas:

Areas:
Ross Ave. & Toke St. areas including Michelano Dr.

Date & Time of Disruption:
September 21, 2023, at 12:00AM-7:00AM

Homeowners and businesses may experience short-term loss in water pressure or experience brown or rust coloured water following the testing. It is recommended not to drink or wash laundry with the discoloured water. While it is not harmful to your health, it can stain laundry. Should this occur, it is advised to turn off your tap for 10-20 minutes to allow the crew to complete the test. Once the test is complete and the work crew has left the area, turn on the COLD water tap closest to the source (usually your laundry tub tap) and let it run for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the water colour has returned to normal.

City staff would like to thank residents for their patience and cooperation during this necessary process and advise that if there are any questions, concerns or requests for additional information, they may contact the Service Timmins at 705-264-1331, starting at 8:30am- 4:30pm. September 19, 2023, 1:00PM

Homeowners in that area may experience low-pressure, brown or rust-colored water. It is recommended not to drink or wash laundry with discolored water. While it is not harmful to your health, it can stain laundry. Should this occur, it is advised to turn on the COLD water tap closest to the source (usually your laundry tub tap) and let it run for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the water color has returned to normal.

The Enforcement Services Department wishes to inform the public that parking will be disrupted temporarily due to parking lot repaving at the Third Ave. Municipal Lot on Third Ave. beginning Monday, September 18, 2023.

Repaving of select municipal parking lots will increase safety by eliminating uneven ground. Additional parking signage will also be added to provide clear and concise parking instruction.

Please familiarize yourself with alternate City parking locations before construction begins. Notice of Disruptions have been distributed to area businesses.

Only local traffic will be permitted within the area.

The City of Timmins Facilities and Recreation Dept. would like to advise the public that all ice rentals at the McIntyre Arena are canceled tonight (September 6, 2023) due to sewer infrastructure repair.

Area:
Gold Center, starting from Claimpost Tr. Eastward.

Time of Disruption:
Immediately, until repair can be made, no estimated timeframe

Crews are working to get the water back in service for this area, homeowners may experience brown or rust-coloured water, once it is turned back on. It is recommended not to drink or wash laundry with discolored water. While it is not harmful to your health, it can stain laundry. Should this occur, turn on the COLD water tap closest to the source (usually your laundry tub tap) and let it run for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the water colour has returned to normal.

The Archie Dillon Sportsplex pool is closed for annual maintenance and repairs from August 21, 2023 to September 7, 2023. 

Work this year includes changing the main pool filter, replacing sand in the sand filters, and grout work.

We appreciate your patience as we complete scheduled maintenance and look forward to seeing you in September.

Timmins Transit would like to advise the public that this Saturday, September 2, 2023, they will be running a modified Sunday schedule.

Hours of service will not change. Buses will be running from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Routes 901 (east-west), 902 (north-south), 7 (Park Ave.) and 6 (Riverside) will be in service. Changes will be reflected on the Transit Tracker.

The City of Timmins wishes to inform the public about work happening on Lafleur Bridge starting August 28, 2023 for approximately one week. Lane reductions will be in place. Expect minimal delays.

Contractors will be working on the expansion joints of the bridge, which allow movement from weather and traffic.

The City of Timmins wishes to inform the public that Spruce St. S. is closed between Third Ave. and Second Ave. for gas leak repairs. The closure is necessary to maintain gas safety handling distances.

The closure will remain in effect until work is completed.

There is no disruption to Timmins Transit bus services.

Thank you for your patience while Enbridge Gas crews work to make repairs.
