The City of Timmins Environmental Services Department wishes to advise the public of two Emergency Watermain Breaks within the following areas:

Timmins Area:
Empire Ave. from Hemlock St. to Hart St.
Cherry St. from Empire St. to Murdoch Ave.

Porcupine Area:
Haileybury Cr. from Dixon St. to Percival St.
Lovers Lane to Haileybury Cr. to Dead End

Date & Time of Disruption:
February 20, 2025, from 8am to 8pm

All homes and businesses in the affected area could have coloured water and/or lower water pressure until repairs can be made.

It is recommended not to drink or wash laundry with the discoloured water. While it is not harmful to your health, it can stain laundry. Should this occur, it is advised to turn on the COLD water tap closest to the source (usually your laundry tub tap) and let it run for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the colour has returned to normal.

The City of Timmins Public Works Department would like to advise the public that a city-wide snow plowing operation is planned to begin Wednesday, February 19 at 12:01am. and is anticipated to last all day and may continue into the evening.

Crews will be deployed to plow city streets, rural roads, laneways and parking lots across the city.

We would also like to remind the public that the Winter Parking Ban is in effect. Parking on the street is not permitted on any day between the hours of 11:30 pm to 7:30 am, from November 1, through April 30 every year.

The City of Timmins Public Works Department is declaring changes to the snow removal schedule for the week of February 17, 2025 – February 21, 2025, for the following areas:

Areas:
Night Shift Snow Removal South Porcupine/Porcupine – scheduled – Crawford (Dome to Harold), Harold (Beer Store to Northern College), King (Bristol to Bob’s Lake RD).

Date Effected:
Tuesday, February 18, 2025

Disruption of snow removal operations as stated are due to a city-wide snow plowing event.

Timmins Transit's Northern College Express will not be running during the College's reading week, February 17 - 21, 2025. Please use Route 16 for travel between the main Transit Terminal on Spruce St. S. and South Porcupine and Porcupine.

Reminder, there is NO Timmins Transit service on Monday, February 17, 2025 due to the Family Day holiday.

Effective immediately. Homeowners will experience temporary loss of water until approximately 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2025. This is to facilitate repairs of the watermain break at the McIntyre Community Centre.

Once repairs are complete, brown or rust coloured water may occur. It is recommended not to drink or wash laundry with discoloured water. While it is not harmful to your health, it can stain laundry. Turn on the COLD water tap closest to the source (usually your laundry tub tap) and let it run for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the water colour has returned to normal.

City of Timmins, Environmental Services Department, wishes to advise the public of a watermain break at the McIntyre Community Centre. The arena, including the McIntyre Coffee Shop, are closed effective immediately.

Hockey games scheduled at the McIntyre Arena as part of the Porcupine Minor Hockey Association’s Winter Classic Hockey Tournament are being moved to other arenas. Check the Porcupine Minor Hockey Association’s page for updated locations: https://sites.google.com/pmhahockey.com/pmha/tournaments

An update on repairs and completion will be provided as soon as possible.

Crew working into the evening until 8pm.
