Airport security screening for passengers traveling with Thunder Airlines and Air Creebec begins Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Timmins Victor M. Power Airport (YTS). The service is being provided at the request of Mushkegowuk Council, and will include security screening of checked baggage, passengers, and all carry-on baggage and personal items.

Passengers traveling with Thunder Airlines and Air Creebec will be required to have checked baggage screened before proceeding to the airline counter. At passenger security screening, they will present their boarding pass for verification, place personal items and carry-on baggage through the airport X-ray machine, and proceed through the walk-through metal detector. Additional or separate screening of particular items, including explosive trace detection (swabbing) or screening of electronic devices may be required.

Personal items and carry-on baggage will be screened for non-permitted and prohibited items. These are items such as hammers, knives, hockey sticks, or liquids in a container larger than 100 ml, that will not be allowed past the airport’s security checkpoint. For a complete list of non-permitted and prohibited items, please visit: https://www.catsa-acsta.gc.ca/en.
